The Darlington Society of Arts was founded in 1922 by J E Hodgkin, to stimulate an interest in the creation and appreciation of Art and Craft within the community of Darlington and the surrounding areas. The Society is a friendly group of amateurs and professional artists of all ages.
Darlington Society of Arts meets from 7pm until 9pm at Hummersknott Academy on Wednesday evenings. Most evenings have a theme to give some inspiration, if needed, but members can also work on their own projects.
See our What’s On page for our term time programme.
There are always materials at hand for members to use. We encourage new members whether beginners or experienced to join the society and enjoy our upcoming workshops.
Joining the Society gives you the opportunity to display at venues across the calendar year, including The Station at Richmond, The Darlington Building Society at Tubwell row and The Crown Street Gallery, Darlington.
